OMCL to expand Mahaparbat Iron Ore Mining Project

Orissa Mining Corporation Limited to expand Mahaparbat Iron Ore Mining Project in village Unchabali, Tehsil Barbil in Keonjhar district of Orissa. The proposal is for opening of a new mine for production of 70,000tonnes per annum (0.07million TPA) of iron ore. The Baitarani River is flowing in the buffer zone of the mine at distance of 3km from the mine lease boundary. . The targeted production capacity of the mine is 70,000TPA of iron ore and the life of mine is 30years. Approximately 250TPD of mineral will be transported through the road. The topography of the area is hilly at an elevation above mean sea level ranging from 525m to 605m. There will be four quarries namely; (i) the Western Quarry, (ii) the Eastern Quarry (iii) the Southern Quarry and (iv) the Ichinda Quarry (for float ore).

Orissa Mining Corporation to expand S.G.B.K. Iron and Manganese Ore Mining Project

Orissa Mining Corporation to expand S.G.B.K. Iron and Manganese Ore Mining Project located in Village(s) Guruda, Palsa, Siljora, Tadapani, Badakalimati, Balda and Nayagarh, Tehsil Barbil in Keonjhar district of Orissa. The proposed rated capacity of the mine is to be expanded from 1,73,000tonnes per annum(TPA)(0.173 million TPA) to 0.5 million TPA and manganese ore from 0.044 million to TPA 0.05 million TPA. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 393 million. An additional crusher of 110 TPH capacity will be setup as part of this project. Approximately 1850TPD of mineral will be transported through the road. The topography of the area is hilly at an elevation ranging from 520m-750m AMSL. The existing ground level for Siljora quarry is 670 m AMSL and the ultimate working depth will be 650m AMSL. In the Betjhar quarry, the existing ground level is at 570m AMSL and the ultimate working depth will be 548m AMSL.

Rungta Mines to expand Kanther Koira Manganese Ore Mining Project

Rungta Mines to expand Ka`nther Koira Manganese Ore Mining Project in Village Kanther-Koira, Tehsil Bonai in Sundergarh district of Orissa. The proposed rated capacity of the mine is to be expanded from 3000tonnes per annum(TPA) to 20,025TPA of manganese ore. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 9.0 million. It may be noted, a part of the Bhawanipur Reserve forest falls in the core zone of the mine lease area.

Orissa Mining Corporation to expand Gandhamardan-B Iron Ore Mining Project

Orissa Mining Corporation to expand Gandhamardan-B Iron Ore Mining Project located in village(s) Uparjagar, Ichinda, Urumunda, Nitigitha, Ambadahara, Saharapentha & Upper Kainsari, Tehsil Telkoi in Keonjhar district of Orissa. The proposed rated capacity of the mine is to be expanded from 2.5million tonnes per annum (million TPA) to 9.12 million TPA of iron ore. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 470.6 million. The Suakati Nallah is flowing in the buffer zone of the mine at a distance of 1.3km from the mine lease boundary. In addition, the Baitarni River and the Patarpagi Nadi are also flowing in the buffer zone of the mine at distance of 4.6km and 4.8km respectively from the mine lease boundary.

Rungta Mines to expand : Siljora Kalimati Manganese and Iron Ore Mining Project

Rungta Mines to expand : Siljora Kalimati Manganese and Iron Ore Mining Project located in village Siljora, Tehsil Champua in Keonjhar district of Orissa. The proposed rated capacity of the mine is to be expanded from manganese ore of 60,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) (0.06 million TPA) to 0.189 million TPA and iron ore from 0.049 million TPA to 0.136 million TPA. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 55 million. It has been reported that four water bodies namely the Jalpa Nadi, the Kakrapani Nallah, the Baitarini River and the Suna Nadi are located in close proximity to the mine lease, one abutting the mine lease (at a distance of zero km) and three others at a distance of 4km, 3.6km and 5.55km respectively.

Rungta Mines to expand Kolmong Manganese Ore Mining Project located in village Kolmong in Sundergarh district of Orissa. The proposed rated capacity of the mine is to be expanded from 12,000tonnes per annum(TPA) to 40,100TPA of manganese ore. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 25 million. The mine working will be opencast by semi-mechanized method involving drilling and blasting.

National Enterprises to expand Railkela Iron ore mining project

National Enterprises to expand Railkela Iron ore mining project located in Raikela village in Bonai taluk in Sundergarh district of Orissa. The proposed rated capacity of the mine is to be expanded from 25,000tonnes per annum (TPA) to 42,000TPA of iron ore. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 4.2 million. There are two working pits namely the top pit and the middle pit. The ultimate working depth of mine will be 650m AMSL and the groundwater table is reported at 584m AMSL.
